It's been a long year at work without much family time, but I'll be more or less wrapping up til the new year in the next few days.
Wanted to take the wife and 4yo daughter on a quick trip before Christmas. We're in Lubbock and thinking NM/Colo would be best bet. Looked at airbnb for Ruidoso and Red River but want to make sure we don't wind up in a shithole that had nice pictures taken.
We're not skiers so, just wanting to get away for a few days somewhere with a cool view in the mountains. Trying to keep it 4-6 hours in the car or so. The closer to Lubbock the better because we have to turn around and drive to Houston for Christmas, but not too concerned if there's a badass place a little further.
Any tips on places to stay, other towns to look at, things to do?
