Hello RRS!
A while ago I started a thread seeking advice on what to look out for when buying a new home with my then fiancée (now wife) and got some really great advice (and jokes) from it. My wife (former TTU track/XC athlete) and I are expecting our first child in a little less than 4 weeks now. Any and all advice on navigating the newborn phase would be appreciated. We don't have any family around Houston as my in-laws live in San Antonio and all of my family lives in Los Angeles so it'll just be us and our son's God parents looking out for him day to day. My wife is a teacher and she's off until October and I'll have 3 weeks off from work and will try to work remote until the end of the year. I'm a little iffy on working remote as I'm not the biggest fan of it but will bite the bullet if my wife needs support. Also any seasoned parents that have just general parenting tips would be very helpful! I'm super nervous about being a father as my dad and I's relationship is non-existent, but I have a kick-ass mom who taught me about all she could teach me about how the world works and how to conduct myself. I think I'll be a good dad as I have a bunch of examples from my dad on how not to handle situations but any additional advice/insights is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
