I watched this game last night and had a few takeaways from the game (good and bad....or just bad).
1) Kennedy Brooks is a flat out stud. Doesn't have blazing speed, but makes great cuts, runs hard, and is very difficult to bring down on first contact. He is a must take, IMO. You find room for this kid.
2) Dimitri Moore - Very mixed feelings on his play. He was highly ineffective against the run. Often blocked out of the play (though he was held several times that went uncalled), missed some tackles, and really was not the physical presence I expected. That said, he is a great looking athlete. I think he could be pretty effective in pass defense. IMO, he is 2-3 years away from being able to hold up to a B12 running attack.
3) Saiid Adebo - (Notre Dame commit) Kid is a great looking athlete, but hurt his knee/shin/leg to some degree on a TD catch/run. Didn't look like a major injury, but he left in the 2nd qtr I believe and did not return.
Cedar Hill was EXTREMELY fortunate to win. They got some very beneficial calls on the last drive (#21 looked like he fumbled, but was called down). Once Mansfield lost their MLB in the 3rd qtr (Middlebrooks), their defense went downhill quickly. I came away much more impressed with Mansfield. They are going to make a strong run in the playoffs if they can get decent QB play, and if they get their MLB back. $.02
