1. Has anyone left a job shortly after starting (say, < 3 months after you start date)?
2. How much better would the "new" offer have to be in order for you to leave your brand new employer?
My specific situation, for anyone wondering: Started a contract role about 3 weeks ago. The pay is really solid, but the benefits aren't - basic health insurance and 10 days PTO and that's it.
New gig (should I get an offer) would be a 10-15% raise, full benefits (401k matching, 20 days PTO, parental leave, which I'll likely need soon), but most importantly it's not a contact role that I'd have to worry about whether or not it gets extended into 2026.
3. Given this, would I be a total arse for leaving?
I feel like this would be totally out-of-the-question about 20-30 years ago, but boy does it seem like job hopping has become much more acceptable, if not the norm. But regardless, feel free to flame away for even considering this.
