Happy State Bank Chairman David Seim died of natural causes Sunday.
Seim, 72, had served as Lubbock market chairman of Happy State Bank Since 2012. He previously served as a vice-chairman of PlainsCapital Bank's West Texas division.
Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope on Sunday issued a statement praising Seim's contributions to his community.
"Denise and I grieve with Lubbockites and the Happy State Bank family at the passing of David Seim," Pope's statement reads. "David was a dear friend and mentor to me for the past 25 years. A faithful husband, a great dad, a superb businessman, and a strong community partner, David will be greatly missed. Paula and his family are in our prayers."
