I have seen this board help others out with several job hunts before and wanted to try my luck this time.
I am currently a Project Manager in Dallas for a small EHR Software & Services company. The job is great, but I live in Fort Worth with my wife and 2yo, and the commute is killing me. Originally hired for Technical Documentation and administrative assistance, the role rapidly expanded and I was selected over outside candidates for the current position. The problem is I've only done it for 9 months and I'm burning out from the drive time on top of the position.
I have a mixed background in IT, Medical, and Food & Beverage. I also have 2 Degrees from Tech and a Masters from UNTHSC in Biomedical Sciences. I have seen several positions listed for project management but they seem like they're all looking for much more experience. Anyone know of maybe a smaller company looking for a local guy with experience or any tips for maneuvering my current situation?
I can always fall back on a laboratory or bar tending gig, but would hope to get something closer to my current position/pay. Any advice, assistance or direction are welcomed here or in PMs. Thanks guys.
