I'm looking for a solid fitness tracker, likely a smartwatch, and the options are pretty overwhelming. I had some kind of fitbit a few years back when options were limited, but it broke and I just never got anything to replace it.

I'm not a hardcore hiker or runner. I run some on the treadmill, lift weights and ride my bike a bit. I Use my phone for music. I mostly want something to count steps and monitor my heart rate. I'd prefer it be water proof just in case I forget to take it off in the pool, but I'm not a swimmer. If it somehow tracks lifting that's a plus, but not necessary at all. I have a Samsung phone, so no iWatch. It needs to be fairly durable.

The problem I'm having is that I either want it to be a pretty decent looking watch or, preferably, small enough to basically just be a wrist band so that I can wear an actual watch. I have a nice Luminox I wear every day and a Tudor I wear on occasion, so if I could just add HR and steps I'd be set.

I've looked at the Garmin Instinct and the Samsung Galaxy Active. Garmin seems overkill on features for me and underwhelming as far as the watch face goes. Samsung seems a little overkill on features too and likely not durable enough, but I could be wrong. I'm also not a huge fan of how it looks. Cant find a "band" type that wouldn't eliminate the usefulness of a regular watch.

Suggestions?
