This story is getting a lot of buzz across the country and it seems like the common public opinion is driverless cars are a bad thing.

What the story about a driverless car dragging a pedestrian 20 feet leaves out is that the pedestrian was struck by another car (human driving) into the driverless car, and the original driver fled the scene.

People are suggesting this incident is evidence they are not safe and FSD should be stopped. Personally I think it’s nuts and all evidence shows these vehicles are significantly safer than human drivers and can’t understand why people are so scared and fall for fear porn. Note: I work in oil and gas and have no benefit other than life being safer and easier if cars could drive themselves.

What are y’all’s thoughts? Any experts in the field?
