My friend Gary Ward passed away from aggressive cancer and Covid at the young age of 55 a little over a month ago. He was a founding member of the Smokin' Raider Tailgaters group that had the impressive rig and tailgate setup on the first base side of Dan Law for the last 12 years or so at every single home game. His wife Deanna works at our church as the children's director. Deanna and her daughter are in need of our assistance. We are hosting a fundraising event for her at Two Docs on Sunday December 13th from 4-7. We are providing free food and bbq to any and all that attend and are willing to share a donation.
Gary always had a smile on his face and helped everyone in need. He was a staple volunteer at our church, Lakeridge UMC, and was my neighbor for years. And he loved Texas Tech as much as anyone.
