I've never been much of a yard guy and I'm still really not, but I'd like to get my bermuda in a little bit beter shape this year if possible. I was planning to scalp next weekend and apply preemergent, but it's looking like I might have been too late with the weather we've been having lately. Lots of little weeds popping up and a few green sprouts of what may be bermuda already. Am I just stuck with what I got at this point? Or can I still scalp and apply preemergent with no issues?
Also, I'm thinking of overseeding a little and covering with a very minimal coat of topsoil/sand to thicken it up and level it out. I typically mow it at about an inch or so with a rotary in the spring and it works its way up to 2" by the end of growing season, so I'm not looking for a fairway lawn or anything, just something that looks nice and healthy with minimal weeds and easy maintenance.
