Ok, sales pros, I’m asking for a little advice.
I’m applying for a sales job and could use some input on the second interview.
A little about me: I am a retired high school teacher/coach without any real training in sales/business. I feel like I aced the first interview, hitting and expounding on the general statement that “When you’re in education, every day you’re selling yourself and your vision/goals for student success,” etc. I feel like my communication skills, positive demeanor, and responses to the scenarios they presented carried me through the first cut despite my lack of sales experience.
I’m studying up on more questions that would be likely to show up in a sales job interview but would appreciate some advice from the board. Any advice on hot-button things to say (or probably more important, NOT to say) in the interview? Sales managers, what do you look for when considering hiring salespeople and what would help a newcomer to the field stand out?
Yep, hook me up folks. A little semi-NSFW payment:
