Some of you may recall my post from last year about my nephew winning State Tournament MVP as he led his 1A team (Lipan) to the State Basketball Championship in 2017.
They won the state title again this year and although he wasn’t State Tournament MVP, today he was awarded TABC 1A Player of the Year for the State of Texas. He’s valedictorian of his class and a great kid.
Although he had some interest from some D2 schools, he’s having surgery on his knee this summer, so no schollies. He’s planning on attending first year and walking on in year 2 - still not definite on which school.
A little positive high school news on a not so positive day.
