Ok, I just watched the movie. Tried to find the previous thread but couldn’t. Some thoughts:
1- loved it
2- Brad Pitt stole the movie. He was great
3- one of my favorite things about Quintin Tarantino is when he takes historical events and rewrites history as he wishes it turned out ( Inglorious Bastards).
4- I was a sophomore at Tech in 69. This movie took me back there. Music, cars, how they dressed, everything. I just wish he’d have worked Bill Walton into the plot. I know Walton was friends with these characters.
5- The cast, awesome. Luke Perry’s last performance before he died. Bert Reynolds read for the part of the ranch owner but died before the movie was made. Reynolds tells QT he has to insert the line that Pitt’s character is to pretty for a stunt man, and they include it.
6- I had to read the Wikipedia page to unravel what was historical and what was fictional. Characters that were based on something else were awesome like SteveMcQueen and the tv show that was based on “ Have Gun Will Travel” ( my favorite western as a kid ).
7- QT makes amazing movies. I forgive his political craziness because of his genius.
