All of our biggest competitors—Oklahoma State, Baylor, TCU, and Houston—are trending downward fast. We need to win all of these matchups, except for Houston, who inexplicably isn’t on our schedule this year.
The jury is still out on Texas Tech’s season, and there’s plenty of reason to be pessimistic given how some of our games have played out, but the reality is that we’re 4-1 and I wouldn’t trade our position for any of these rivals. This is a huge opportunity for McGuire and Tech to finally get a leg up on these programs. Let’s hope that starts tonight.
