I’m far from the expert on this. When it comes to on field production and scheme fit, I would trust @T. Beadles more than pretty much anyone, especially PFF. I just wanted to take a look at guys we went after in the portal last season, and compare it to how they turned out this year.

Vinny Sciurry - 64.4 Grade

Dalton Merryman - 63.4 Grade
Sterling Porcher - 43.6 Grade
Carter, Rogers, Wilson all rank in the top of the Big 12 when it comes to pass protection. Porcher, Buchanan, Merryman all rank in the bottom of the league in pass protection.
Clearly, our biggest issue is the left side. Sciurry being hurt stings, but if you had a decent LT there would be a huge difference imo. It is crazy to see some of the guys that went to the portal and were highly sought after and then their production. I’m not saying PFF grades are the best judge of play, but at least it gives you a bit of an idea about how our guys stack up against others. Kilty at LT probably wins us 2 more games. That’s despite having one of the worst pass rushes in the league too. The biggest key this offseason will be finding help on our right side. If Ponton can take LT, that would be huge for our future.
Oh, and an interesting stat to leave with. Behren has a 84.2 grade and 0 interceptions when throwing from a clean pocket and a 38.2 grade under pressure.
