I will be posting notes and quotes from Kliff Kingsbury's weekly radio show in this thread. Eric Morris will be joining the program for the last 30 minutes.
  • "We hadn't started fast in a couple of weeks so it was good to see us come out and get things going early (against Oklahoma State). Just didn't sustain it in the third quarter."

  • Kingsbury said that the Red Raiders have three "very winnable games" left on the schedule, so they need to play well and get back to winning.

  • Kingsbury said he "couldn't be prouder" of Jakeem Grant's work ethic.

  • Kingsbury on the Jah'Shawn Johnson penalty: "I think they went straight by the book. At that point in the game, you'd think there'd be some subjectivity to it, the refs seeing how it happened. It was helmet to helmet, they stuck by it."
FIRST BREAK
  • Kingsbury does not believe in the Mothman.

  • Kingsbury does not consider a hot dog to be a sandwich. He also admitted to putting ketchup on his hot dogs.

  • Kingsbury on the possibility of the Baylor game returning to home-and-home: "I'm not sure how that contract works. It's been a great game for the DFW fanbase and we've had a great turnout. I don't know if that will be coming back anytime soon."

  • Kingsbury said that he feels like college football is close to implementing an NFL-style communication system that will allow coaches to communicate with quarterbacks/linebackers on the field before the play. He said that he thinks it will be tested in several bowl games this season.

  • "It may fall through, but there's been a lot of talk about going that way."

  • Kingsbury was asked to name his favorite breed of horse. "I'm not well-versed in that. I like the white ones."

  • Kingsbury on the possibility of facing Texas A&M in a bowl game: "It'd be a fun game. I think it'd be fun for the fans to play that game."

  • Kingsbury's favorite cologne: Jean Paul Gaultier.

  • "I don't think I'm going to touch Blue Bell for a while. Couple of years. There are some options out there. Someone else can test that out."
SECOND BREAK
  • "It's an intense trip for sure with the distance you have to travel. It's a great atmosphere, great fanbase. A lot of our players have never been that far from home, never experienced that type of weather, that type of place. It's a unique trip on our schedule and I think our players are looking forward to it and will play well."

  • Kingsbury said the team "learned a lot" from the early kick against Kansas and will make some adjustments to its gameday schedule in hopes of getting off to a better start in Morgantown.

  • Kingsbury said he has been impressed by WVU's defensive scheme.

  • "The games we've lost this year we've been terrible in turnover margin."
THIRD BREAK
  • Eric Morris on playing WVU: "I think this one means a little bit more to (Kingsbury) and I, playing against Coach Holgorsen. A guy we respect a lot, a good friend of ours."

  • "(Mike Leach's) a guy that's the most consistent guy that I've ever been around in terms of his message to coaches and teams. Good or bad."

  • Morris said that Quan Shorts (Z receiver) and Donta Thompson (Y receiver) will be "impact players" for the Red Raiders next year.

  • Morris said he wouldn't trade Jakeem Grant for any other slot receiver in the country.

  • "I went to watch Irving MacArthur and three of my old teammates (Julius Howard, Brent and Trent Nickerson) are all coaching for them."
FINAL BREAK
  • "As a whole, probably the best linebacker corps in the Big 12. Tough guys that run to the ball, read their keys, play a physical style of football."

  • Morris said that one of the keys to the game will be matching West Virginia's physicality.

  • Morris said that Karl Joseph was his favorite player to watch on film in the Big 12. "He has a special career ahead of him in the NFL."
