So I just received a text message from the wife of my best friend that he's been diagnosed with Stage 3 Testicular Cancer. The cancer has spread to his upper and lower lymph nodes, and he will be undergoing another CT Scan to see if it's spread to his brain.
I don't know what to say to him.
I'm not really a "Thoughts and Prayers" type of a guy. I have much more of a "You're going to beat this shit" type of an attitude, but I'm afraid the timing isn't right for that and I may come across as insensitive or somehow diminish the scope of the situation.
I'm hoping that of few of you guys that have been though this might be able to help me with the right approach. Ben is a great guy, 33 years old and has 3 kids under the age of 6. I need to support him, I just don't know what he NEEDS to hear right now.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
