Many are understandably upset that the move was made at a critical recruiting juncture. Fair enough. But consider this: Memphis wants to close out their recruiting on a high note just as badly as Tech does. I will wager that Memphis made the offer with a very short expiration date, to help their own recruiting. It is quite possible he had no choice if he wanted the job. That's how the coaching game often works, and that's how athletic departments often operate. JMO...
