Is definitely our big man depth.
Here are the guys on the roster listed at 6'7" or taller:
6'8" Zach Smith (SR)
6'9" Norense Odiase (JR)
6'10" Malik Ondigo (FR)
6'11" Tommy Hamilton (SR)
We are 1 injury away from being absolutely decimated there and we all know Odiase's history the last 2 seasons. Then you notice one of the 4 is a true freshman, which isn't good to rely on either.
Justin Gray is the only other player listed at even 6'6" on the roster. We'll probably have to play him at PF some, which if he's increased his strength I honestly wouldn't mind as he can be an offensive mismatch on the other end against bigger, slower guys.
Anyways, with the quality of big men in the Big 12 having only 4 on our team could prove troublesome this season. That's just the #1 thing that stuck out to me when looking at our roster. Like I said 1 injury could ruin our entire season. 2 injuries and we're playing 6'5" Niem Stevenson and Brandone Francis at PF.
And not to punt on this season, but moving onto next year I'd like Beard to sign at least 3 big men this class, and preferably 1-2 of those need to be JUCO's or transfers, guys who are ready to come in and play immediately.
