While sweeping USF in and of itself isn't anything huge, we did see Dillon Carter on the field (and playing like a stud) and Drew Woodcox had a great weekend as well, not to mention Monteverde's performance on the mound. But I wanted to talk about some things that happened outside The Law that Tech should benefit from.
First, #25 South Carolina swept #5 Florida this weekend. This helps Tech as they are currently ranked #6.
Second, #2 Arkansas is currently leading #3 Miss St 5-2 B4. If Arky hangs on to win today they will sweep their series against MSU, so if #3 MSU is swept we stand a good chance of jumping them as well when the new polls come out on Monday. If Arky wins the series 2-1, we still have a chance to jump MSU, but it isn't a guarantee.
Jumping 2 spots is hard to do when you're ranked #6, so this could be a very good weekend for Tech.
