The fact that this board is such a beating after a loss isn't surprising - there's certainly precedent and that's message board culture. But for the life of me I can't figure out why 1) so many are surprised by Sat's outcome and 2) can't stand how quickly and easily people will turn our HC - who's BTW, one of our own.
To 1) - I hate to sound like a broken record but I'd encourage the posters melting down to try to manage your expectations by looking at things objectively. The fact that Tech isn't likely going to win B12 (or 10 games, etc.) this season was evident prior to the 1st kickoff - unless you were building up a group of unproven DL, OL Receivers and RB's based on hopeful expectations instead of objective realities. You can't replace the damage done by our DC turnovers with a 2nd year DC coaching a bunch of transfers and frosh. But, I think this team can be competitive in every game and I'm looking forward to supporting them every GameDay.
2) KK doesn't get it? We're screwed until KK's contract is up? Nice work. What happened to loyalty? A few bumps in the road and that's it? Get rid of the guy? Let me guess - those with issues are "results oriented". That's fine, just don't complain when the result of our next successful HC leaves our program for more money.
KK is smart, dedicated, extremely hard working and focused. Is he Bear Bryant, Vince Lombardi and Nick Saban? No. Is he young and learning on the job? Yes. But it's a rare thing to have our HC be one of us. He loves our University, is likely one of a handful of HC's who will not leave when offered a better job. Our HC has a very high ceiling - and our best opportunity to build our program to a sustainable place on the highest levels of CFB if our get rich quick mindsets will apply the virtues of patience.
