The moment Mahomes was drafted by the Chiefs we started seeing Chiefs fans kinda start popping up in places in the LBK. Especially after Mahomes success in his second year.
But fast forward 7-8 years, Lubbock has completely morphed into Kansas City South. Chiefs have become the West Texas team.
Cowboys and Texans are running in second and third place around here now and it’s starting to become a distant second and third.
Chiefs flags, stickers on cars, folks wearing all sorts of gear now. We’ve got official Chiefs watch parties scheduled for next Sunday at several establishments. Like big events. Stella’s is even charging a $25 cover.
Most of my family has completely transitioned. Large number of them even go to Kansas City for Chiefs games at least once a year.
And get this… at my daughters Middle School they’re having a Chiefs Super Bowl week… Monday is Pat Mahomes Monday, Tuesday is Travis Tuesday, Wednesday is Andy Reed WinsDay, etc. haha wild, a Texas middle school.
I know, dear Facebook. But just crazy to watch the Cowboys get completely phased out up here. Chiefs territory now.
