We got to the hospital yesterday at 5 o’clock. Gave her cervidol all night and this morning broke her water and gave her potacin (sp?). Not much as happened all day. Little progression. Then around 4 they gave her the epidural and she got to a 3. So they were optimistic.
However never progressed past then. Now it’s 10 and she’s been in labor for over 28 hours. They determined she wasn’t going to progress more and they decided to do a c section. She started to get a fever and the baby’s heart rate is spiking. They just prepped her and took her back and now I’m sitting here by myself waiting to be called back. Talk about feeling helpless.
I’m sure everything will end up fine and I’m thankful we are about to have this baby boy, but shit this is a bit nerve racking.
Edit: James Russell came out 7 lbs 14 oz. and luckily he has his momma’s looks.
I sincerely appreciate all the thoughts and prayers. And I will spend the next 18 years pointing him towards the good guys (Mom is a Baylor Bear).
