One thing I noticed about the game today against Kansas that really impressed me was that Tubby took the opportunity during the first half to get a bunch of bench players including our backup post into the game. At times this year, we have shortened the bench. However, getting players experience at the Allen Fieldhouse will pay great dividends in games to come.

If you get a bunch of players into the game and you come back and win, it is a total team effort and really brings the team together. If you don't come back, then you get a bunch of kids some good experience in one of the hardest places to play in college basketball. Later, Tubby can remind them that the upcoming game is not that big of a deal because they played at KU.

The prevailing wisdom is to shorten the bench in a game like this. Tubby is really impressive to think beyond convention.
