I spent a considerable amount of time Friday evening with Coach Beard and his staff at the Overton Bar. For those that attended the Collin County gathering, the staff was still very thankful to have spent some time visiting with you and hopes to see us again for an event in Ft Worth before the TCU game. Probably something on that Monday night Feb 6th.
We got into a lengthy discussion about the old Leach Fantasy Camp and how much people enjoyed them- mainly the interaction with every member of the coaching staff- during the day but most particularly dinner and late night activities! They would be interested in doing something similar next year so we have plenty of time to gather our thoughts and suggestions for input back to the staff. I am thinking of a Friday afternoon arrival, hotel check-in, dinner and evening social. Saturday court time and film review. Saturday night dinner and more social activities around town with designated drivers back to the hotel as needed. Maybe 20-30 attendees at $2000 each? Let me know what you think. Remember, this is an opportunity to get some close interaction time with staff and probably some or all of the players- the coaches need to make some money for their own budget purposes so we can't be cheap sob's.
And yes, there were a few other folks from out of town at the table, one of which scored 40+ points against KU back in the old Coliseum IYKWIMAITYD.
