I found out Saturday night that the 2 boys I adopted ( sons of my wife at the time ) are changing their last name from my name to my ex wife's maiden name. They are 20 and 19 so are able to do so. I am angry and hurt but I know I need to push that aside and take care of things from a legal matter. Since they are changing their last name , does that make the adoption null and void? I want to make sure they have no ties to any assets I may have when I die. Do I need to get a will done to specify they get nothing?
