As some of you may know, Wednesday was my final day as sports director at Fox 34 and today will be my last day as co-host of Tech Talk. Level and I started doing Tech Talk nearly five and a half years ago. It has been a tremendous ride and experience to do the show and I will miss it more than I can express in any post on a message board or anything I can say during the alloted time on the air today.
But it is time for a new chapter in my life as I begin a somewhat different career path next week. I will still stay involved with the site and the magazine but my on air days are now over with the exception of remaining as the play by play voice for Tech baseball.
Tech Talk started as an idea we had on an elevator ride and evolved to where it stands today. We began paying for our air time for a one hour slot on Fox Talk 950 to eventually becoming paid employees of Ramar and doing the show for two hours. From that we eventually were asked to host the Leach radio show and Level still does the Tuberville show. People took notice of the great job Level does and he was asked to be the sideline reporter for Tech football as well.
There will be a big hole for me every day from 11 to1 that will be hard to replace. But I don't have to tell you people about the kind of job Level does and the type of person he is both on and off the air. The show has always been about the knowledge and information he brings to the table and that will never change. It's been an honor to get to work with him on the show. He's certainly one of my best friends and will miss hanging with him every day.
I want to thank the folks at Ramar for always being first class in their dealing with us. I can't say enough good things about the stations and the job they do. I appreciate greatly Brad Moran and Chuck Heinz for seeing the potential in our show and giving us a shot. I also wanted to thank Brandi Blake for being a great EP...will miss working with her. And also thanks to Jeff McGuire for producing the show, I'm not always the easiest guy to get along with.
But mostly thanks to those of you who listened either on the radio, on the stream or on the replays. Just like here on the site, it's the people you deal with that make it fun.
So for now I'll leave you on the air but like you, I'll be listening! Thanks again.
