I haven't bought a laptop in years. I mainly use my work one for most things, but think it's time that I finally upgrade my own.

Considering all the specials going on out there for Black Friday/Cyber Monday, or Christmas in general, what the hell should I be looking at?

Uses: Generic everyday use, excel, minor gaming (think very basic games that don't require complex graphic cards).

Wants: Thin for travel. Long battery life. Lightweight. Thinking 14" screen, maybe even just a 13". Guessing 16GB RAM.

Bonus: Charging via USB-C as my phone uses that as well (easy for travel then).

Budget: Prefer less than $1000

Been looking at Asus Zenbooks. Looks like Intel has some new 11 generation processors released, but most Zenbooks with them are already sold out.

Anyone have any suggestion?
