We continue to struggle in our pursuit of 4-5 Star athletes. I decided to check to see what our history has been in the past few years with the 4 star players that we have signed and how they have performed.
Since 2010, we have signed 19 4 star High school players and here is the list:
2010- TreVante Porter, Delans Griffin, Scott Young, Jackson Richards
2011- Delvon Simmons, Jace Amaro, Tony Morales, Derek Edwards, Kenny Williams
2012- Dominique Wheeler, Michael Starts, Reggie Davis
2013- Devin Lauderdale
2014- Nigel Bethel
2015- J. F. Thomas, Conner Dyer, Breiden Fehoko
2016- T. J Vasher
So, out of 19, 9 have actually stayed in the program for all of their eligibility which includes T. J. Vasher. Out of those 19, 1 has been a difference maker, Jace Amaro. Six others have been decent players. Fehoko and Vasher are in the wait and see column.
Seems that we do a much better job with our 2-3 star recruits than we do with 4 star players.
