As this game gets closer I find myself less confident Tech is going to pull it out. At first it's easy to see KSU has lost 5 in a row and gotten their doors blown off by OU. They don't have a lot of talent, their qb is bad, and they aren't forcing a ton of turnovers. Really the biggest positive is its at home where we have played well and its senior day. I don't think it's lost on our players that they have to win for a bowl. I'm looking at you outside WR and DL, these two units will have a large say on if we are successful.
So that's a lot of positives but here are the concerns. I don't care if kliff shows up at 2am with espresso, he isn't out coaching Bill Snyder. KSU hasn't gotten blown out except for 1 game against a very good team. Tech has obviously sucked on defense but the turnovers have been a positive, well KSU doesn't turn it over. They are really going to hold the ball and we will have to go up by a few scores to get them out of the run and I still think they will keep running. It could lead to us pressing when we have the ball. If we play it like the arky game we can win but they just played Baylor and this will be a similar game but our defense can't stop their run. I actually think WVU is the crappier team between the two.
In order to win we can have no turnovers and Pat has to move the ball and score in the red zone. I think we will have to be very efficient offensively because we will only have a few chances. If we are able to be +2 in turnovers, we win. This team just hangs in there and it will be very close. I also wonder if the crowd will be there and be into it.
Hope we pull this out because we really need it but just feel like we lose by 4. Time of possession is 40/20, we have 1 turnover, and have some drives stall. We are more talented but it's going to take us playing with great energy and discipline to beat an average team that won't beat themselves.
