I'm not a big soccer fan, but when it's a World Cup final I watch. After the match I waited for the trophy ceremony. And waited. Finally, the cast is assembled, soccer royalty and heads of State. By then, it started to rain. The reception line was scrambling for umbrellas with 2 prominent exceptions: Vladimir Putin and Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic. Everybody would expect Putin to tough it out, he's Ex-KGB and celebrated tough guy. But, the female President of Croatia ignored the downpour, standing in the rain, drenched, but hugging every player and coach from both teams. Slapping them on the back, then pulling each one in close for a private message. Color me impressed. On a stage full of people who are full of themselves, she was selfless. It was about the soccer, not her. She's in her 1st 5 year term as President and can run for 1 additional term. If I could, I'd vote for her.
