Kliff also spent time with 3 teams in NFL Europe and the Canadian Football League.
In 2008, Kliff entered his coaching career when Dana Holgorsen gave him an Offensive Quality Control job at the University of Houston. He quickly climbed the ladder at UofH to CoOC and QB Coach and was calling the plays by 2011 under then HC Kevin Sumlin, a record setting season with QB Case Keenum. Kliff is recognized as the Offensive Coordinator of the Year.
Sumlin takes the job at Texas A&M in 2012 and takes Kliff with him to be the OC/QB Coach. Kliff coaches a RS FR QB Johnny Manziel to a Heisman Trophy, including an upset win, 29-24 over #1 Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Again, Kliff is recognized as the Offensive Coordinator of the Year.
2013-2018, Kliff is named the youngest Head Coach in all of FBS football (34) at his alma mater, Texas Tech. Kliff wins 35 games as the Head Coach, unfortunately he loses 40 games and is fired by AD Kirby Hocutt. Kliff accepts his termination with class and love for Texas Tech.
USC promptly hires Kliff to be their OC/QB Coach and then the NFL's Arizona Cardinals promptly hires Kliff away from USC to be their next Head Coach.
At 39 years of age, Kliff Kingsbury is now an NFL Head Coach.
Kliff Kingsbury is a success. He is also a successful Red Raider.
