Listen, I know some of y’all will roll your eyes at this post, and I’m trying not to seem like I’m overreacting to a couple solid weeks of Tech football. But with the NFL’s ongoing adoption of college spread offenses and Kingsbury’s track record with QB coaching — are we on the brink of Kingsbury to the NFL talk?

It’s well known knowledge at this point that the Chiefs are using a bunch of Kingsbury’s offensive plays. And Kingsbury has been heralded as an young offensive genius for some time now. With the success of young coaches like Sean McVay in LA, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least that an NFL owner could talk themselves into Kingsbury in the coming years.

There’s already strong talk of Lincoln Riley to the Browns/Cowboys.

Something to monitor and discuss. Detractors will say “Kingsbury can’t even compete in the Big 12”. Which seems as a valid point on the surface, but not so valid when you consider the differences in building competing rosters in the NFL vs college (recruiting, etc).

Basically I’m pumped to see Baker and Kingsbury reunite with the Cleveland Browns next year.
