This gets overlooked, but Kirby does the football program absolutely zero favors with the football schedule. The past 5 years, this young, thin, talent-seeking roster has routinely had to endure playing games for 8-10 weeks in a row without a bye week. He has set his team up for failure with the schedule being so tedious. BTW, I am not making any excuses for KK. He has his own set of issues that have led to this pile of S program and its current state. I'm simply looking at a contributing factor that needs to have a bright light shined upon it:
2013 - Bye after week 4 (1-5 in final 6 games....KK's first season)
2014 - Bye after week 3 and Week 9 (2-4 in final 6 games.....season TCU dropped 82 on us)
2015 - ZERO Bye weeks (2-4 in final 6 games....season Pat Mahomes won at UT)
2016 - ZERO Bye weeks (2-4 in final 6 games....some close losses late)
2017 - Bye after week 2....What a waste of a Bye week (final 6 starting out at 0-3)
I understand making a schedule is difficult, but dammit, surely this can be tweaked to strategically place a bye week in the middle of conference schedules instead of a meaningless bye week early in the season (or none at all).
