There’s been a lot of talk on this board about Kirby the Athletic Director. Last night Kirby the man did something more impressive than anything he’s done on the job.
An older gentleman had a heart attack a few rows off the court right at the tip off of the game. Kirby was the first one down to him. Kirby is currently in a sling from shoulder surgery, but after he ran to get paramedics himself, he was removing all the chairs around with his one good arm where the incident occurred to get a flat surface for the man to lay on.
He also comforted the mans son as the paramedics shocked the older gentleman, and did chest compressions for over 2 minutes. Thank God they were able to bring the guy back and wheel him out of the arena alive.
Kirby’s actions probably saved that mans life.
Kirby is not only an incredible AD he is an incredible human being. I hope there is, but I doubt there’s many ADs in the country that would have done as much as ours did last night.
