- 1 L to the stat sheet after a failed comeback effort.

- Jett Duffey leading the way through the air and on the ground. He went 16-27 for 172 yards and one touchdown toss compared to two picks. He rushed for 86 yards on 15 scrambles.

- Alan Bowman had 123 yards before his game-ending injury. He was responsible for one score and one INT.

- Antoine Wesley led the game in receiving with eight catches, 110 yards followed by Ja'Deion High with six catches and 105 yards.

- The Red Raider defense shutdown Grier in the second half and even as early as the second quarter. Red Raiders allowed 14 points over the span of the final three quarters. West Virginia's final offensive score was in the second quarter.

- More disciplined than West Virginia: Red Raiders with seven called penalties for 60 yards. Mountaineers racked up 12 flags for 115 yards.

- Turnover differential: Mountaineers scored 14 points off of three turnovers by the Red Raiders.

- Red zone was a treat for both. Tech scoring points in all five trips between the 20 and the end zone.

- Marcus Simms with nine receptions for 138 yards for West Virginia. Will Grier went 27-of-41 for 370 yards and three touchdowns.

- Big time state here: Texas Tech has not won a game against a Big 12 opponent inside Jones AT&T Stadium in exactly two years. The last win was against Kansas, 55-19, when Pat Mahomes and Nic Shimonek both threw for 4 scores apiece.

- Update on last stat: Texas Tech is the only Big 12 team to remain winless at home in conference play the last two years. Remember – Kansas beat Texas at home two years ago...
