Just finished rewatching the game at MSG against Louisville. (I was there live, so this is my first time to see the telecast) A couple of observations about the December team compared to our last couple of weeks of play.....
That December team played HARD. They didn’t overpass. They fought. Hard. Like ‘Avery Benson with his hair-on-fire’ hard. They were active. It is a noticeable difference from what I’ve seen the last week.
I don’t know if that’s because they knew they were without Ramsey. I don’t know if it’s because it was earlier in the season and they’re tired now. Shannon was much more active and forceful. (The Bilas love for Shannon was palpable)
I don’t have an answer, it’s just observation. Maybe they get a second wind. Maybe they’ve been scouted and haven’t made the adjustments. It’s just a different team today than that team in December.
