- Boykin/Doctson are probably the best QB-WR combo in the game. Some of those catches by Doctson were flat out amazing. It's extremely hard to be upset with our secondary for giving up what they did. I don't think we'll see another offense like that this year. BU will be solid obviously, but I think it's silly to say they'll do what TCU did to us. TCU will be doing that to EVERY team in the big12. I think OU will be the only team that may give their offense trouble.
-The refs weren't good. Mahomes fumbled and Boykin did not catch the two point conversion. Who knows what happens if either of these were called the other way. Obviously the fumble would have been a much bigger deal, but again - who knows how that affects the overall game.
-TCU's penalties kept us in the game at times, but our missed opportunities (two dropped ints, dropped passes, etc) kept them from losing by multiple scores.
-Very happy with our run defense. Weird to say that. But again, Boykin/Doctson are basically un-defendable at times and they didn't miss their run game much.
-I'm just gonna come out and say it, Dre is a top 3 Tech RB and is knocking on the door to be in the conversation as the GOAT this season. Good things happen just about EVERY time he touches the ball.
-Mahomes is obviously a beast. No reason to say what everyone already knows here. I think he'll be fine. Knee's injuries are either minor or major - they're hardly ever anything inbetween. If it was anything concerning, I don't think he'd be able to come back and play. I'm gonna guess he bruised it pretty bad and will be back to 100% for BU. It's great to be young.
-Bottom line, we're a miracle catch away from being 4-0 and ranking in the lower teens heading to Jerry World. It's a heartbreaker, but this team just learned that they can go toe to toe with one of the best offenses the game has ever seen and should have won. I'm not big on moral victories, but if there ever was a legitimate one - this was it.
