As a rule I think we historically put so much in to beating UT that we just end up playing tight. There's a reason that teams with lesser talent seem to be more competitive with them than we are. Our fans ( or at least a good portion of them) value seasons based on how we do against them. Right now if someone were to poll our fans and ask in they would trade this year's bowl eligibility for a win last night , there would be an astonishing number who would. Their hatred of that school overrides their love for Tech.
I think its about talent and the over importance we put on that game and it ends up as us playing tight.
I've seen some say they are losing faith in this staff and I get that but this hasn't been a one off.

Last night totally sucked. The effort was inexcusable.
Yes....they are way more talented but we just didn't compete. It was a terrible way to end this " rivalry"
I still think this staff will be our best ever .
Go get a 7th win in the bowl .
