Maybe I'm just feeding off Joey McGuire's infectious, perpetual positivity, or maybe I'm delirious from liking 5000k+ cactus Tweets last night, but I'm starting to feel optimistic about next season. Admittedly I go through this stage every off-season, but looking over the roster, I don't see how this is a 9th place finish team in the B12 barring injury. I have some big concerns about OL, LB, and to a lesser extent WR, but we have some playmakers and veterans on this team and the buy-in from the players is obvious. I am not expecting a miracle in year one of JM and the front loaded schedule is tough, but I'd bet this is a 7 win team.
Based on the poll last week, the board seems pretty split on QB, but I think Shough is going to thrive in Kittley's offense. Although it hasn't been announced, McGuire hinting at special packages for Donovan Smith to me shows that he's likely the backup at this time but will still see the field. I believe Morton takes the reins in 2023 but Shough surprises many this year with an OC known to get the most out of his QB.
