You don't see players take official visits from other countries very often, but Chris Beard the Red Raiders are hosting one today and tomorrow: Small forward Yves Pons (pronounced Eve Ponce) who plays nationally for France and is a native of Haiti.
He's a class of 2017 prospect, so as I said, his visit this weekend is official. In fact, Texas Tech assistant Chris Ogden actually visited him in France last weekend while Tech was off for finals.
Pons is currently down to Texas Tech, Tennessee, and Florida, and he will visit those two schools immediately after Tech.
