I was at the FT worth hospital district this week and went to see highly regard Doc

We were in the Kalabala tower. Probably not spelling it correctly. But my wife knows these folks

He was a naval aviator out to the west area of Fla on the Gulf. He was a geology major from OU I think.

Flying over the Gulf on a clear day when water was smooth. He noticed a geologic structure that might be oil.

After his service he put in a bid with Govt for that area and got the lease. He made a fortune.

The west Texas glider guys from Odessa honored me for what I have done for them and I not longer will pay dues.

But I have to pay the tow. I guess they forgot I gave the the tow plane !

Gary Evans was a Odessa Permian wide receiver and Paul Stiles was center on Spike Dykes State Champ team. Paul flew 7 hours last week and over 300 miles. !! Sure wish we could get soaring going near Lubbock.

I gave money and we set up the structure but does not look like we will make it. I any of you are interested in Powerless flight go look around Plainview. My longest flight was 270 miles and in the air about 5 hours. Lubbock put 60 percent of the gliders used on D day, trained at South Plains Army Airfield . They had long dirt landing spots all over, one near Idalou. Just e mail and I will tell the guys you are coming and pay for it. One of our pilots was Delta Pilot number one out of LA for Asia. I founded with 15 other she Soaring Club of Houston, now 200.

Due to health I am selling my Citibra, it is a Bellanca . Used to be sold in Plainview , the 2 place version . Now no one know this, Lindberg went to Bellanca to built a plane to fly to Paris. The were backed up and sent him to Ryan. for Sprit of St Louis.
