Who here remembers that offseason (2011?) where we busied ourselves with voting, debating, agonizing over what our official 3rd quarter song would be? If memory serves, the final two in the running were, "All I do is Win" which was a terrible look because that, by definition, was patently false. So then the olds began to declare their allegiance for "Thunderstruck" and started a movement for "you've been RAIDERSTRUCK" or some equally appalling chant....much to the dismay of every millennial who said recruits could never relate to hard rock....
And at that first game of the season we finally learn the results....only to have the Tech sound guy totally botch the first 45 seconds of Angus' guitar intro and the entire thing falls flat as the complete debacle most of us knew it would be. Every time I hear that song I think of that. I miss those offseasons when that was truly the worse we had to contend with. Tune in next time for Cake's musings of years past.
