Arr Texas Tech.

Well, the simple fact is Seton Hall shot the ball really well and won. That's pretty much a universal truth: The team that shoots the ball the best generally wins the game.

They shot 51% from the field, which is slightly better than they do nomrally. Tech shot about 47%, which is a hare worse than they do normally.

But...Seton Hall crushed it on the most valuable shot in basketball. They hit 55% from the arc - about 20 points higher than they normally shoot it. Tech almost hit their average and shot 33%. The Pirates even hit nearly 70% from the stripe.

Without checking, I'll hazard a guess and think teams shooting 55% from the arc tend to win most of those games.

The Raiders had some nice stretches, but I felt like any time Seton Hall wanted to get a shot off they could.

Tech I thought did a pretty dang good job on Delgado, but got roasted by Rodriguez - no shame there, he roasts a lot of teams. Powell...we talked about not letting him get loose, and instead he was 4-8 from the arc and scored 19 points. That's a big problem. Even Carrington, a terrible shot, was 4-9 from the field and 2-4 from the arc. Just can't let these guys score if the main guys are also going to score. If a guy like Powell gets 19 or Carrington gets 16, then Rodriguez has got to be held in check. Or Rodriguez gets his but keep the rest of those guys in check.

Back to Delgado, really nice job by Tech. Really nice. In 31 minutes he had 12 points, 5 boards, and 4 fouls. He's a guy who doesn't foul a lot because he's really good at getting position on defense. So big major kudos to Tech for their work on the post, that was really nice and frankly is kind of exciting to see.

I thought Tech was too easy to speed up, not very happy to see that. It's troubling, but early and hopefully something the Raiders can work on.

Seton Hall was better last night. Good win for them, not a terrible loss for Tech. It's a resume builder for the Pirates, so it's nice to be on that side of the ledger for a change...beating Tech is a plus now.

...ok, now I'm over it. Bring on Nevada!
