Beard is a fake, Texas Tech has been catfished. Now players are flocking to the portal. I couldn't be more devastated, dude left on his own account and wanted to leave. There was nothing, absolutely nothing, Raiders could have done to get him to stay. New facility, seating layout, office design, lifetime fatty contract, on and on and it all means nothing. Whatever UT is paying him will end up being less actual dollars due to cost of living adjustment.
I'm mad. That wrecking ball is going to set Tech back despite what we all wish would happen with some home run hire. I will say this, there will be plenty of roster spots to fill and good basketball players can be found in a lot of places. College basketball is 100% about coaching, and good coaches are very tough to find.
I suppose over time I'll be less angry. I'm an old now so I'm supposed to have perspective. My perspective right now is pretty narrow and it involves Texas losing every game ever played forever in any sport. I guess I've always had that perspective anyway.

I hope I look back in 3 or 5 years and Tech has been Just Fine in basketball and someone bumps this post and I can replay and say, "Yep, that turned out to be a huge blessing in disguise." Today I'm mad and I'm sad but mostly I'm mad as a wet hornet. Texas Tech gave that dude everything, he talked about Lubbock being home and it was all baloney. It was all bull.
