Shut the fvck up. This team was a group of absolute warriors. We were picked 7th in the Big 12, not expected to contend in any way, and ended up 2nd, with the Big 12 POY, Big 12 Newcomer of the year, multiple all conference selections, and came within a minute of going to the Final Four.
This is a team that exceeded absolutely every expectation, despite injuries, horrific officiating, and an extremely difficult tourney draw. Undersized, unappreciated, unexpected. And they still exceeded every damn expectation.
Kerwin Walton, Chance McMillian, Elijah Hawkins, Darrion Williams, Fede Fede, JT Toppin, Kevin Overton, Christian Anderson, EY, Leon Horner, all deserve the most praise possible.
Grant McCasland and his staff built a team built on loving each other and they took it as far as they could. This is one of the most proud sports moments I’ve ever felt.
