I think some folks have made some great observations about what JM is doing from a historical Tech perspective. And those results are quite positive.

I think there are stats that support ZK putting up really good numbers on offense. And those results in totality are quite positive.

When you remove the emotion of game time, most fans will agree with the above.

While the emotions are running high (game threads), fans extrapolate immediate results (good or bad) which leads to a skewed view both directions.

That said, I think this is what causes the most frustration for fans (at least for me) is this team has been on the cusp of winning almost every game. This elevates expectations (which is a good thing). But then mistakes get made during these games (either by coaches, players, refs, or all of the above) which often feels like we "let another one slip away". If not for these mistakes, we would be challenging for top of the conference and ranked accordingly. So it feels like lost opportunities to take the next step and we are just "typical Tech".

It is being so close, but disappointed in a handful of games that leads fans to lose sight of the fact that: We are a better team than 3 years ago and progress is being made. We don't have enough talent to overcome those mistakes, but I hope we either reduce those mistakes or improve the talent to the point it doesn't matter. Wreck 'Em.
