...maybe this year the Big 12 money grab pays off for Texas Tech. As long as no Raiders are injured, that's the caveat. As for the game, I could not care less at this point if Tech wins or loses - I would like to see the Raiders work on the things they need to work on for Big 12 play.
Move with purpose. Screen, down screen, cut, flare.
Dribble when it's time to dribble, pass when it's time to pass
I suppose with free throw shooting, Tech is what it is. Culver shoots a hard free throw, but I'd like to see him rattle in a few more and get that percentage up. Come on man, it's more than just free points! It's little daggers to the other team! They add up. Owens has a nice shot but his game isn't suited to getting to the stripe a lot.
You know what I'd like to see? The guys who come on here bashing Culver just dry up and blow away. Game leaders for all conference games to date:
What more do you stiffs want this guy to do? Tech is a one man army on offense right now, and the Raiders need to either figure out how to get others heavily involved (preferred) or figure out a way to put Culver in a position to score it about another 7 - 10 times per game.
There's no shame in losing on the road in conference play. That home loss to ISU still bothers me. That first half was a real stinker. Culver did everything possible to get Tech a win but it wasn't enough that day. No fault of his.
Back on topic, don't care about the result today but I want to see Tech play some Tech basketball. I want some frosty defense and some good offense.
I know Tech hangs their hats on defense, but the last three games it's been pretty average. Don't let 58 points against KSU fool you, KSU sucks on offense. KSU got a look at the basket all night, they just didn't score.
Raiders need to right the defensive ship today, and get that offense working.
Come on!!! LET'S GO RAIDERS!!
