OU is a huge brand and program but I've wondered why they have been so hell bent on trying to force the issue with league expansion. Just as with the Pac 12 situation I feel like their bark is worse than their bite. What are their options? Do they want to join the SEC West and be the 3rd best or worse program in that division and have to recruit against them? Or would they rather win a Big 12 championship every other year and have a good path to the playoff?
The Big 1G is so snooty academically, would they take OU? I think they might but do you really want to play in that league? Other than the alums of those schools, who likes that brand of football and the travel would be terrible. How would they continue to recruit Texas if they never played in Texas?
The ACC seems even worse geographically and the competition is average. The PAC seems like the next best alternative but is the money there, does the travel work if you can't add UT?
The best option is the SEC and I think they know they'd be just another program.
