That type of culture is created by the guys on the field. The Head Coach creates the environment but it's up to the guys playing the game to pull together and make the right plays when the game is on the line.
Kliff Kingsbury was one of those players. He learned how to win on the field. He literally got beat to crap in 2001 learning how to win. But he and Symons, Cumbie, Hodges all took that similar attitude to the field. Hodges passed that onto Harrell (where Harrell cared so much he cried after losses in 2006) and Graham tried his best with Potts and Sticks.
Now Kliff has to build that mentality into Pat. That it's up to him to carry the group of players to win. To hold them to a higher standard. That 8 dropped passes is not okay. That penalties that negate big plays are not acceptable. But it starts with the offense. Play timely defense (get some stops, get some turnovers). But the game is to score more points.
I think we see a big jump from week 1 to week 2 with the entire team.
